Aims of Training:
- To outline Sunderland specific trends and themes impacting our children and young people and their families who are at risk of harm outside the home
- To support practitioners to understand that a response to harm outside the home sits across services and the differences in everyone’s roles, but what also the collective response should achieve
- To provide practical learning opportunities using the case studies
Expected Outcomes of Training:
Practitioners will…
- Understand what is meant by harm outside the home and understand its impact on children (but also that it does not stop once someone turns 18)
- Develop knowledge of issues impacting children, young people and communities specific to Sunderland
- Begin to understand what a collective, multi-agency response to risk and harm outside the home may look like
- Have strengthened partnership working arrangements and relationships through shared experiences and discussion
