Detail:

Delivered by Northumbria Police's Violence Reduction Unit, this training is relevant to anyone working with children and young people requiring information and guidance about knife crime. The session lasts two hours but is accompanied by a workbook with activities to be completed in own time.

Learning Aims

To raise awareness of issues relating to knife crime.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the facilitated seminar you will be able to:

Describe the nature and extent of knife crime.

• Outline the Law in relation to offensive weapons and knives.

• List potential signs that someone may be involved in or be around knife crime.

• Give examples of efforts being made to tackle knife crime.

• Identify ways in which you can support the reduction in knife crime.

Duration:

• Pre-Seminar Activities: 45 minutes

• Seminar: 120 minutes

• Post Seminar activities: 60 minute
